November 14, 2006 Regular Board Meeting

Regular Board Meeting of November 14, 2006
  Following 2007 Budget Hearing and Special Electors Meeting

Chairman Jeff Long called the meeting to order at 8:34 p.m.  Also
present were Supervisors Jay Christgau and David Schuenemann and
Clerk/Treasurer Lois Smith.
There were no visitors.

MOTION/CHRISTGAU:  SECOND/LONG:  To approve the agenda as posted.
MOTION CARRIED.

The Treasurer’s Report for October, 2006 was reviewed.  MOTION/LONG: 
SECOND/SCHUENEMANN:  To approve the report as presented.  MOTION
CARRIED.

The minutes of the October 23, 2006 were read.  MOTION/LONG: 
SECOND/SCHUENEMANN:  To approve the minutes.  MOTION CARRIED.

Old Business
Update on Winterpark Project.  Advertisement has taken place for
bids.  Opening of bids is scheduled at a special board meeting on
November 29, 2006 at 7:30 p.m.

New Business:
a)Chief Dennis Westphal submitted names of newly elected officers of
BJ Volunteer Fire Department for the 2007 term.  They are:  Chief –
Dennis Westphal; Assistant Chief – John Titel; Ambulance Director –
Rick Walden.  MOTION/LONG:  SECOND/CHRISTGAU:  To approve 2007 BJ
Volunteer Fire Department Officers as submitted.  MOTION CARRIED.
b)The land use agreement with the WI DNR for Nichols Lake
Recreational Facility was reviewed.  The lease is for 15 years ending
on October 31, 2021.  MOTION/LONG:  SECOND/SCHUENEMANN:  To approve
the lease.  MOTION CARRIED.
c)The 2007 budget approved by the electors at the prior special
meeting is $1,089,268.10 and the mill rate is set at 1.90043396.  The
tax levy is $673,432.39.
There is one change to record which was approved at the special
meeting.
The General Government total is changed from the advertised amount of
$176,444.00 to $180,440.00 and the Public Works – Transportation
advertised amount is changed from $425,127.00 to $421,127.00.  The
change is to reflect the increase in the Clerk/Treasurer’s salary from
$31,000 to $35,000.  The reduction in Public Works-Transportation
comes out of line item Roads & Gravel.
MOTION/LONG:  SECOND/SCHUENEMANN:  To approve the 2007 budget as
$1,089,268.10.  MOTION CARRIED.  MOTION/LONG:  SECOND/CHRISTGAU:  To
set the mill rate at 1.90043396.  MOTION CARRIED.
d)The Third Quarter Room Tax collected was $57,642.37.  The
clerk/treasurer reported there is one resort yet to report. 
$43,231.78 will be paid to the Chamber of Commerce for their 75% and
$14,410.59 for the Town.
Bills payable were approved in the amount of  $46,647.90.
