Regular Board Meeting of November 27, 2007
Chairman Jeff Long called the meeting to order at 8:37 p.m. following
the Special Electors Meeting. Also present were Supervisors David
Schuenemann and Charlie Spencer, Clerk/Treasurer Lois Smith, Police
Officer Jim Hanson and guests: Eric Johnson, Lakeland Times, Russ
Cluey, Mykl Hensley, Cherie Sanderson and 2 children, Julie
Schuenemann and 2 children, Nils Franz, Jean Knox, Ken Ehle, Arlene
Bozicnik, Scott Kimball, Steve Duba, Mauleen Hegemann, and Reba
Mabie.
MOTION/SCHUENEMANN: SECOND/SPENCER: To approve the agenda as
posted. MOTION CARRIED.
Ken Ehle and Steve Duba asked questions and received answers.
The Treasurer’s Report for October was reviewed. MOTION/SCHUENEMANN:
SECOND/SPENCER: To approve the Treasurer’s Report as presented.
MOTION CARRIED.
The minutes of October 16th were reviewed. MOTION/SCHUENEMANN:
SECOND/SPENCER: To approve the minutes as presented. MOTION
CARRIED.
The minutes of October 29th were reviewed. MOTION/SPENCER:
SECOND/SCHUENEMANN: To approve the minutes as presented. MOTION
CARRIED.
The minutes of the special board meeting of November 5th were
reviewed. MOTION/SCHUENEMANN: SECOND/SPENCER: To approve the
minutes as presented. MOTION CARRIED.
The minutes of the special board meeting of November 12th were
reviewed. MOTION/SPENCER: SECOND/SCHUENEMANN: To approve the
minutes as presented. MOTION CARRIED.
New Business:
Chairman Long stated that the electors approved a tax levy of
$699,426.88 and our 2008 Budget of $1,157,970.93. MOTION/LONG:
SECOND/SPENCER: To place the 2007 Tax Levy at $699,426.88 and to
adopt the 2008 Budget at $1,157,970.93. MOTION CARRIED.
The 3rd Quarter Room Tax was reviewed. MOTION/LONG:
SECOND/SCHUENEMANN: To approve payment of the 75% to the BJ Chamber
of Commerce in the amount of $45,339.51. MOTION CARRIED.
Sign permit application for Sara Muender, Moondeer Design was
reviewed. MOTION/LONG: SECOND/SCHUENEMANN: To approve sign
application for Sara Muender. MOTION CARRIED.
Sign permit application for Mykl Hensley, Arlene’s Rental was
reviewed. MOTION/SPENCER: SECOND/SCHUENEMANN: To approve sign
permit application for Mykl Hensley. MOTION CARRIED.
Amendment #1 to Resolution 9-82, Public Records Law was discussed.
The amendment sets the following fees for record requests under §
19.35, WI Stats.:
a. Cost of Copying - $.25 per copy
b. Actual necessary and direct cost of locating a record if the cost
is more than $50.00:
The Current hourly rate of the Clerk/Treasurer or the
current hourly rate of
the Deputy Clerk
c. Actual Cost of shipping or mailing of any copy or photograph
d. Actual cost of copying recorded tapes, plus shipping and mailing
e. The cost of photography and photographic processing if the form of
record does not permit copying
f. Copies of a record may be produced without charge or at a reduced
charge if the Board determines a reduction would be in the public
interest
g. Prepayment is required on all estimated copies per § 19.35 (3)(f),
WI Stats.
MOTION/SCHUENEMANN: SECOND/LONG: To adopt Resolution 9-82 as
presented above. MOTION CARRIED with roll call vote with all board
members voting in favor of resolution.
A short discussion on Uniform Dwelling Code and some of the problems
that have arisen. MOTION/LONG: SECOND/SPENCER: To table this for
discussion at the December meeting and then possible passage in
January, 2008. MOTION CARRIED.
Correspondence: Letter from High/Fishtrap/Rush Lake Association was
read as a point of information (recommending that the Town Board form
a town lakes committee). Chairman Long gave the letter to Supervisor
Spencer to follow-up.
Bills payable were approved in the amount of $224,408.81 which
includes Old Hwy K Road Construction Project partial payment of
150,232.93. $1000 is being withheld for payment in spring, 2008 (when
final grading of road side is completed.)
