November 6, 2008 Special Town Board Meeting

Special Town Board Meeting of November 6, 2008
Chairman Jeff Long called the meeting to order at 7:39 p.m.  Also
present were 
David Schuenemann and Charlie Spencer, Clerk/Treasurer Lois Smith and
guests
(Study Committee Members – Ned Pierce, Elinore Sommerfeld, Irene
Gravelle,
Dennis Reuss, Steve Duba ) and Librian Cherie Sanderson.
MOTION/SCHUENEMANN:  SECOND/SPENCER:  To approve the agenda as
posted.  MOTION CARRIED.
Ned Pierce, Chairman of the Study Committee  on Town Facilities began
by
summarizing  the history of the committee and its’ responsibilities. 
He stated 
the Community Center is a tool for the community and at present is
sufficient for
75% of our activities.  Elinore Sommerfeld stated the committee had
not 
received any positive responses to buying the Granary Restaurant and
using it
as the Library.  The committee’s recommendation to the board would be
to not
purchase the Granary Restaurant for use as the Town’s Library. 
Comments from
the committee were to build an attractive community center including
the library.
Mr. Pierce felt it was the board’s responsibility to condition the
public to a fairly
substantial debt for the building project.  Supervisors Schuenemann
and Spencer 
thanked the committee for all their work.  Chairman Long gave some
history on the
community center and also gave his thanks to the committee. 
MOTION/SPENCER:
SECOND/LONG:  To accept the report as provided and make it for sale
at $3.00 a copy.
MOTION CARRIED.
The final bill from Angelo Luppino, Inc. for the roadwork on
Oswego/Fishtrap Lake Road
was presented.  The total bill was the same amount of the bid plus
the extra  $852.00 for 
repairing a bad spot, total bill of $50,504.00.  MOTION/LONG: 
SECOND/SCHUENEMANN:  
Approve the payment of $50,504 to Angelo Lupino, Inc.  MOTION
CARRIED.
MOTION/LONG:  SECOND/SCHUENEMANN:  To adjourn at 8:27 p.m.
