October 10, 2006 Special Town Board Meeting

Special Town Board Meeting of October 10, 2006

Chairman Jeff Long called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.  Also
present were Supervisors Jay Christgau and David Schoenemann,
Clerk/Treasurer Lois Smith and guests Gene and Carol Klisnick and Russ
Cluey.

MOTION/SCHOENEMANN:  SECOND/CHRISTGAU:  To approve the agenda as
posted.  MOTION CARRIED.

MOTION/LONG:  SECOND/SCHOENEMANN:  To move the regular board meeting
from Tuesday, October 24, 2006 to Monday,October 23, 2006 as all board
members would not be present.  MOTION CARRIED.

Chairman Long explained  the Gresham Lakes Association’s request for
the Town of Boulder Junction to apply for the DNR Grant and collect
funds from lake association members to help fight the spread of
aquatic invasive species.  Chairman Long feels he would like to be
cooperative with the different lakes associations in catching the
spread of aquatic invasive species in infancy.  Grants are awarded in
April of 2007.  He suggested an amount of $2000 be added as a line
item in the 2007 budget to assist lake associations in studies or
treatment and cover any costs to the town.  

Chairman Long explained the problem with one of the modine furnaces
in the town shop.    Two quotes were received:  Quality Heating: $2525
and Omega Corp.: $3390.  Supervisor Schuenemann stated the shop needs
the heat before winter and hopes the working second unit will continue
through the winter. He suggests having the second unit be checked over
at the same time.  MOTION:  CHRISTGAU:  SECOND:LONG:  To accept the
quote from Quality Heating for $2,525.00.  MOTION CARRIED. 

The 2007 budget was reviewed by line item.  It continues to be a
challenge for the board to try and stay within the state levy amount
increase.  The clerk will make corrections and additions and the
budget will be discussed again at the October 23rd meeting.

MOTION/LONG:  SECOND/SCHUENEMANN:  To adjourn the meeting at 8:15
p.m.  MOTION CARRIED.
