The risk of wildfire IS real in Boulder Junction.

Boulder Junction is taking steps to reduce those risks.

The Town of Boulder Junction adopted a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) on April 26, 2016. A CWPP is a 5-year planning document that identifies an entire town’s wildfire risk and provides recommendations for projects that protect citizens, homes and essential infrastructure from destructive wildfires.

The CWPP is a collaborative effort of a committee including town officials, fire department members, forestry and emergency management agencies and a variety of community stakeholders. Public participation and input is welcome at any time.

Benefits of a CWPP

Priority consideration for 50% cost-share grant funds to implement CWPP projects

Reduced potential for tremendous damage to life, property and infrastructure town and its citizens are better able to survive a wildfire

Improved emergency response and preparedness

Solid understanding of wildfire risks and solutions

The CWPP committee meets every 3-4 months. Agenda will be posted in advance of each meeting.
